They get stained easily. I had an underbite and had my braces for about 23 months. Ceramic braces are similar to metal braces in terms of structure but they re less noticeable because they use clear or tooth colored brackets rather than gray or metallic colored components. The ceramic brackets themselves resist picking up color from food or drink but the bonding glue and the rubber bands that connect the braces will turn color if you re not careful.

The white braces that are attached to the front of your teeth are made up of ceramic or porcelain base and then we use white wires and clear elastics to. You can maintain your oral hygiene as a starter. The stains on the bracket cannot be removed as it will damage your bracket and it will break. However the clear elastic ties rubber bands used to hold the wire into the braces can turn yellow over time regardless of the bracket used see picture below.

Ask your orthodontist not to put white or clear o rings on them. However the clear bands used to affix the wires to the brackets can stain and this is generally what causes your ceramic braces to look yellow or at least more visible than you may have.
