My Freezer Is Leaking Water Onto The Floor

This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts.
My freezer is leaking water onto the floor. The freezer is in the garage and the floor is soaking wet. The food in my freezer is still frozen. Unclogging the drain then should eliminate the leak. Cue the condensation collecting on the coils and soon water dripping onto the floor just like in the scenario of an improperly leveled fridge.
Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle. I hear noise coming from the freezer which could be the fan motor or compressor. Check the water valve to see if it is leaking or flooding. It may be stuck in the on position.
The ice maker supply line mentioned previously can leak onto the floor in another manner. Also check the water inlet valve. The water could be coming from the inlet pipes for the ice maker or water dispenser if present or from one of the internal parts associated with those features. Freezer is leaking water on the floor.
Some leaks could be plumbing issues. If this appears to be the case please schedule a service appointment. The leak is dripping from the bottom. Use a towel to dry the seal and the surrounding areas and close the freezer.
Check the copper water line to the. This water can eventually leak onto the floor. First try cleaning the seal around the inside of the freezer door using warm water soap and a washcloth. If the pressure is so high that it causes the ice cube trays to overfill it may spill water into the bottom of the freezer.
Check the defrost drain to determine if it is clogged or frozen. If your frigidaire refrigerator is leaking water on the floor the source isn t always easy to pinpoint. When this pan becomes full it will leak water onto the floor. It seems the freezer is working.
If the defrost drain is frozen thaw the ice.
