Natalia dias garaduated in 2009 with a 1st class hons degree in ceramics from cardiff school of art and design and she is already considered one of the most exciting up and coming ceramic artists in the uk today. Natalia dias germ dias ceramic work is of interest to me as it has both a material and spatial transparency it allows light to enter it in many ways. The forms colours emotions and symbolism found inside those spaces have always been an underlying influence within my work and how it is displayed. It has been exhibitied in galleries until now but it can be a feature outside for a garden wall or water feature even.

Dias was born in portugal and her childhood was devoid of museums but steeped in religion. This concept interests me as my current ceramics collaboration. The porcelain structures are open they are spread apart the glass piece at the centre is materially transparent.
